We all have old home movies of weddings, holidays, school plays, sport events etc, but when we come to playing them, it is too much of a hassle, an we have to keep on fast forwarding, and rewinding all the time, damaging our tapes. This is why we need our memories preserved in the digital age, in DVD's. A typical video tape will only last about 20 years but will lose its quality after around 5 years, most manufacturers have stopped making video players , so the future is not good for your old home videos. DVD's have a better sound quality, picture quality, and are much easier to use, especially nowadays, with the ease of menus and chapters. DVD's last up to 100 years, and will be with us for some time.
